Additional Information
The Lchsp70 promoter is a regulatory DNA sequence derived from the Lucilia cuprina hsp70 gene that is used to drive strong transcription of downstream genes in transgenic constructs. The promoter has been incorporated into several tetracycline-repressible (Tet-Off) genetic systems developed for insect population control and genetic sexing applications.
The promoter is not itself associated with any toxic or pesticidal activity. Its role is regulatory, providing transcriptional control of adjacent coding sequences within engineered genetic constructs.
